2nd bike on the hit list was a 1985 Ninja 900. Black and red and the same one Tom Cruise had in that fly boy film Top Gun. Got it for a good price and rode it pretty hard in the 6 years I had it. The valve train started rattling towards the end of my ownership and the water pump always leaked but other than those two problems that Ninja was trouble free. I always put Metzeler Lazers on front and Dunlop K 591 on the rear. I tried a Metronic on the back once but didn't like the fact that the asphalt ate the German rubber. Normally the front would last 10k and the rear 6-7k..  Then when it was time to swap tires, this would happen.......
