First the bikes

The R65 is coming apart nicely.. No surprises yet.. Parts are on order through a Canadian supplier.. Ill pull the rear tire off and the drive shaft to lube the splines. Pull the rear subframe (to repaint) and then get into the proper engine work..
Then new tires, and put together.
My unknown is the electrics. That will sort itself when everything is together then I put the throttle and switches back on.. New speedo and possibly a tach.. Im hoping she makes it on the road by June... Well I hope.
So the Triumph will have to keep hauling my ass around. If the BMW isnt ready for Lake Placid then The T goes, with leather saddle bags... Not a giddy prospect.. See I dont mind them in the sun and heat. But in the rain, they get soaked.. The insides turn into a goats belly with my clothes as food. Sure I have waterproofs to keep em dry- Glad bags. Still, its a cess pool.
I always jonesed for a system like I had on my KLR.. Solid metal racks, Aluminum panniers that I can plaster with stickers... Happy Trails made the last ones I had.. They were great.. I emailed the factory when I purchased my Triumph and pleaded with them to make a set.. They said they would try if there was a market.. So I jumped on several Triumph Bonneville boards and goaded folks who were interested to contact Happy Trails... And they did.. That was 2012... Well life flies by and I forgot ( goats bellies do hold gear in the dry heat of the sun dontcha know)
Well tonight I had some time ( no really I did) and it popped into my head... Google "Aluminum Panniers- Triumph Bonneville" expecting the same searches to pop up...
Well...

I must say, I am now a very happy boy.. Maybe santa will visit in April!!

Pics are of bike in progress now...
