A first!

So lets start by saying that global warming is here....

This is the first year that I was able to go for an extended ride this early! I managed 120 kilometers in 2 days. I did an errand run on friday and a run to my brothers house on Saturday... Feb 17-18...Conditions were at best 4c and worst -5c. The rig ran great, not a burp or spurt.. A little loud as my exhaust clamps have worked loose but all in all it was an absolute thrill to be out and about... Normally I wouldnt really venture out other than around the neigbourhood due to the salt but the roads were pretty dry.

I also had time to do some maintenance. Basic stuff. Top up the tires (lost 3-4 lb over 4 months) and changed the plugs.. I could have left them in as the mileage was negligable but they were ratty and rusty on the outside.. The electrodes were perfect on both sides... It was ease of mind to change em and put some anti seize on the threads..

So the "riding" year has started off well... I figure we'll get a couple more snow falls before it all goes away but it was a really great feeling to twist that throttle.
