Plotting Americade

Lake George is coming up.
The bike will be ready by then. All I have to do is change the handlebars (back to stock) and get a locking gas cap. I am trying to go minimalist, so maybe a small bag bungee'd off the rear of the seat or those god awful saddlebags. The saddle bags make sense as they'll hold clothes and essentials low to the ground, but will end up looking like a rotting corpse if it rains. The locking cap is a must as this will be the first time the bike hasn't been locked in a garage, and is open to the whims and mercies of any passing joe. Well safe to be sorry or paranoia. I figure Triumph makes their money on stuff that should come standard with the bike, but needs to be bought as an upgrade. As an aside all bikes should have a decent tool kit (a la BMW) and a centre stand, especially chain driven bikes!
As for the handlebars the Norman Hyde has my torso leaning forward too much. I think for the equation to work the foot begs should be shoved to the back and raised. Hmm I think I just described the Thruxton! Shit I want one of them. Then again I like the dirty stuff and a Scrambler fits that bill. If only I were Jay Leno (or had his money!!!)
Well the sun just broke out, the tea is warm and the pug is in the yard barking at her peers. I better leave a pic of the bike with mods when I sign off.
