Back from the cottage 2009

OK not an intro to motorcycles but hey, it's winter.
Took a trip to the cottage with my brother this past saturday and we ended up shoveling some snow from the roof and opening a path to the cabana with an decrepit looking 10 hp snow thrower. All in all the work took us the better part of an hour as starting the machine involved a useless 20 pulls of the cord and nary a cough. "Screw it", I flipped the breaker for hydro and plugged the beast in. It took seconds but when it started, it ran like a top. Better than my machine at home as it ripped me through the snow like a drunk trucker chasing skirts. After the hard work (did I mentioned we worked!) was done we loaded the broken generator in the CR-V. It was bloody heavy and I was glad to have Cam there to help guide it into the truck. The last time I tangled with it I lost an inch of flesh and a quart of blood (stoopid folding handle) After the "work" we decided to strap on snowshoes, light up some cigars and trudge to the end of the lake to see how the water was flowing. -10c, sunny and perfect conditions for a hike. Ended up at our cousins for a bowl of piping hot soup and a cuppa. I could have spent the whole weekend but condensed all that fun into 6 hrs return. Actually driving the winter dirt roads was half the fun as drifting the Honda through the corners was a scream. Not to be repeated with a 10 ton fully fueled generator coming off the mountain mind you.
As I said, not a word about bikes but ya gotta pass the time somehow. Stay tuned as many 2 wheeled forks are in the fire. Soon baby, soon.....!
