Winters chill cuts like a thousand needles through cheap "sport engineered" clothing. I prefer long wool coats, but sometimes you need cheap "sport" clothing too look the part..
Like commuting home in a December winter snow storm.. Thats the latest I pushed riding a bicycle.. Dec 9. Couple of cm of white stuff courtesy of Jack Frost, not Colombian Supremo.. It was a good season for pedalling. I managed 1800 km. Most on the Mountain bike, with a couple of rides on the Eclipse for good measure.
The T had a great year. Most mileage in the last 5 years. 3500 km with 2 comutes to work.. The rest was errands, Lake P, cottage and just puttzing around. One issue- crappy ignition switch. Other than that she was fantastic. No mods done. Just riding.. Nice to free oneself from chasing the perfect bike-the never ending tail chasing that comes with "customizing" your ride..
Well
That was a short lived feeling... Enter the Bavarian Bastard. 650cc of un adulterated raw power (hic, hic) a 1984 BMR R65 Franken bike. Mish mash of parts and barely running.. Some say there is north of 200.000k on the bike.. But the speedometer says 79000 plus or minus. So Ill go with that.
The bikes getting stripped (the fairing is the first thing to get tossed) massaged and loved and we will see where it goes from there. Im leaning towards a sidecar (but can I do with out going down the Ural road again?) Can this bike handle it?
Will it stay, will she go... Only the Shadow knows..... hee hee, dont you love mysteries?
